The Philippine Geomatics Symposium (PhilGEOS) is a biennial gathering first organized in 2012 by the University of the Philippines Department of Geodetic Engineering (UPDGE) and the UP Training Center for Applied Geodesy and Photogrammetry (UPTCAGP). Since then, PhilGEOS has become one of the Philippines’ premier gatherings of geomatics technology developers, researchers, professionals, users, and students from all over the world.

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals are a set of calls for action by the countries around the world with the aim of global partnership to address various social, environmental, and economic issues and promote equity in the global society. These SDGs are part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development that was adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015.
